The Redsea Cultural Foundation (RCF) is the pivotal institution that encompasses three vibrant community service centres: the Hargeysa Cultural Centre (HCC), the Berbera Cultural Centre (BCC), and the Somaliland Centre for African Studies (SCAS). Officially founded in 2003 and gaining formal registration in Somaliland in 2014, RCF serves as a beacon of cultural enrichment and intellectual engagement. In addition to the three centres, since 2008 RCF established and yearly organizes a vibrant and influential annual festival, the Hargeysa International Book Fair.

 

These centres are dynamic public spaces where critical dialogues ignite, capacity-building initiatives thrive, and collaborative partnerships flourish both regionally and globally. SCAS takes the lead in knowledge production and research, organizing a multitude of local, regional, and international conferences that address pressing issues of the region and beyond.

 

The foundation also publishes "Dhaxalreeb," a biannual indexed academic journal that serves not only as an outlet for scholarly work but also as a platform for the dissemination of cutting-edge research. With a deep commitment to pan-Africanist ideology, RCF and its affiliated institutions harness the rich tapestry of African knowledge systems, methodologies, governance, and identity, cultivating a profound sense of community and purpose.
